HELPS CENTER RETRAINING AND COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT TESTIMONIALS

Hi Dr. Levine,

This is just a short note to express my thanks to you and the HELPS staff for working with me on the assessment/retraining program. It was the most constructive experience I have had in the past few years. There was an ideal balance between simulator cases and operating room observation with enough leeway in the daily schedule to take advantage of interesting OR cases. The simulator scenarios were varied and flexible enough to vividly demonstrate areas where I need more work. Thanks again.

Dear Doctors Levine and Hanss,

I just wanted to thank you both for all the work that went into pulling things together for the simulations. This was by far the most interesting and exciting thing we've done so far in medical school. I liked both the hands-on approach and the process focused problem solving that Bryan and Alan walked us through. They were wonderful teachers and this was a fantastic addition to our course work. Please convince other course directors to include simulations to the greatest extent allowed by scheduling of the rooms. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

  Sincerely,

Hi Adam,

I performed my first cases last week. . . It was amazing!  Thanks to you, Ethan and Sam.  Overall, the experience was confidence building and positive.  By the way, God does have a sense of irony.  My FIRST case was an unanticipated difficult intubation.  I had to use the MacGrath sp? and had no trouble at all.  So, first one out of the box after two and one half years and it was not easy.  Sure glad to have that out of the way!

  Best wishes to all.

Hi Adam:

Thank you again for all your assistance in completing the competency assessment. It was truly a worthwhile experience and I feel much more secure about my anesthesia skills; I can't wait to get back to work! Please give my regards to Ethan and Sam. They were terrific teachers.

Best

Adam: I cannot thank you, Ethan and Sam enough for the training that I received at Mt. Sinai. I sincerely believe that you instilled the confidence in me that I needed to resume my career. I am putting kids to sleep in a supervised setting but I really feel limited apprehension even with young babies. Thanks so much.”
